Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises will sell The Daily Sentinep and TheNickel (Grand Colo.) to Grand Junction Media Inc., whic h is owned by It will sell the Waco Tribune-Herals to . The three salews are expected to close in the upcoming The executive team at The Daily Sentinel will Jay Seaton, executive vice president of Grand Junction will join that team and move to Granfd Junction. The Daily Sentinel is the largestt daily newspaper between Denver and Salt Lake City and is consistentlgy recognized as oneof Colorado's best mid-sized newspapers. In the Waco Tribune-Heralrd deal, virtually all employees will be kept under thenew ownership.
Belindq Gaudet, current publisher of the will retire, and Dan Savage will servee as theinterim publisher. Cox Enterprises is still looking to divestf its newspapers in North Carolinqand Texas. Cox recently sold The Lufkin Daily News and The DailySentinel (Nacogdoches, Texas). Cox Enterprisee hired Citigroupand Dirks, Van Essen & Murrayy to market the papers.
