Officials attributede the operating-expense increase to a $56.w2 million rise in the cost of major repair and maintenance projects as well as higher personnel costa and increased expenses for shuttle buseand trains, electricity and snow removal. "Ouer facility has been open nearly15 years, and there have recently been some major repairf and remodel projects completed, whichy under accounting rules had to be expensed," Stan Koniz, DIA'se deputy manager for finance and said in a statement accompanying the release of 2008 financiakl data.
"We expect this trend to continuethrougn 2010," Koniz said. .
