Roseville-based Solar Power (OTCBB: SOPW) should complete the installation of the solarr power systemin November, with Sacramento Municipa l Utility District interconnecting the system to the power grid the same month. All of the power generaterd will be usedby Aerojet, a GenCorp GY) company. “The electricity created by this sola facility provides over 20 percent of the power requiref to operate our extensive groundwaterremediation program,” Aerojet president Scott Neish said in a news “This initiative is a major step in our effortss to help the environment, reduce our carbon footprintt and return approximately 20 acres of our significant land holdings in the Sacramentop area to beneficial use.
” The 18,0009 solar panels will include a sun-trackin array, greatly increasing production as it followw the sun during the day. The Aerojet project will cover about20 acres. “The Aerojet installation will be one of thelargesft single-site industrial installations” in the Solar Power CEO Steve Kirchetr said.
